Our Story

Prelude

There's no way to tell our story without acknowledging the sin in my life and the mess it created, and I believe that is likely by design. God certainly despises sin, but he will always use it for good and for His glory. For it is by the power of our testimony and the blood of the lamb we will overcome the enemy.

I was unmarried and working full time as a pastor for a Christian church when this little plus sign changed my world.

Thus began my journey I am still limping on today, as a pregnant unmarried woman absolutely in love with Jesus. It is on this journey that I have learned first hand that the height, depth, and width the love Christ has for sinners like me is unfathomable. It's on this journey that I have learned that even when everyone in your life rejects you and abandons you, Jesus will not. His grace is in fact bigger than any sin.

It is the loneliness of my journey that has pulled on my heartstrings to reach out to other moms who have found themselves moms unexpectedly. There are so many of us out there wandering on this path alone, afraid, and hopeless. But there is hope, companionship, and joy available to us today. My life is messed up. My life is broken. I am messed up, and I am broken. But I have NEVER been more convinced of the love my Savior has for me, and for the rest of us whom are messed up and broken. And because of that, I am committed to sharing my journey, past, present, and future as candidly and as vulnerably as possible.

It's going to be ugly. It's going to be messy. You're going to raise your eyebrows at me, and be tempted to wonder how I could ever call myself a Christian.

But I love Jesus, and he loves broken people. Even me, even you, no matter where we are today. I promise.

You'll find here not only the ugly but the beautiful. God has given me the greatest gift and wonderful representation of His grace in my life in the form of my daughter. She is my reminder each day of the new life He gives.

Thank you for stopping by and joining us on this journey of scandalous grace and motherhood.
